Jessica Cummings is a compassionate and experienced Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist, specializing in individual therapy for adolescents (ages 12-18) and adults. With a focus on trauma, eating disorders, personality disorders, mood disorders, and the emotional changes of perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause, Jessica provides both in-person and virtual therapy services in Toronto and Stouffville, Ontario.
With over 25 years of experience in the mental health field, Jessica has worked in both hospital and private practice settings. She holds advanced degrees from top universities in Canada and the U.S., and has extensive training in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including EMDR, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Clinical Counselling Hypnotherapy, and Equine-Assisted Therapy.
Jessica's expertise extends to managing severe trauma, eating disorders, personality disorders, and supporting clients through the complexities of menopause and its impact on mental health. She’s also Board Certified in Eating Disorders and is deeply committed to offering personalized care tailored to each individual’s needs.
In addition to her clinical work, Jessica is a sought-after speaker and educator, having presented at national and international conferences on childhood trauma, eating disorders, Borderline Personality Disorder, and mental health in menopause. She also has worked with Family Medicine Residents as a Lecturer at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Medicine and worked with Practicum Placements as an Adjunct Professor at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work and Wilfrid Laurier University, Lyle S. Hallman Faculty of Social Work.

Education
Jessica holds multiple undergraduate and graduate degrees from Canadian and American universities, with a focus on social psychology, behavioural sciences, and social work. She earned simultaneous double Honours B.A. degrees and completed several graduate degrees emphasizing clinical practice in social work and social personality psychology. Jessica is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Counselling and Psychotherapy through the Department of Behavioural Sciences at Yorkville University, New Brunswick. Her primary research explores the psychological impact of perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause, particularly mood disorders. Clinically, she specializes in eating disorders, personality disorders, and severe trauma, integrating trauma-informed, feminist, and biopsychosocial approaches into her work.
